DC’s galleries, grantees, and creative sparks — curated just for you!
Hi friends,
We're thrilled to support our November Grantee, an initiative between Art Works Now and Community Crisis Center, who'll collaborate to provide art-making sessions with homeless youth and seniors. If you know of someone who may like to participate, you can access more information on Art Works Now’s website. Art Works Now provides classes, camps, and facilitates art activities.
From local flavors to national art — November in DC just got exciting!
Now that the government shutdown is over, the Smithsonian museums and other federally-funded organizations should resume programs. You can refer to this Washington DC tourist guide for exhibits, hours, and other details!
Art that moves you, programs that inspire — get out and explore!
Some exhibition highlights:
Umbrella Art Fair (November 21st-23rd), which is a curated exhibition of art, culture, and cuisine from local and national artists, held in Downtown DC at International Square (1850 K St. NW).

Out of Many: Reframing an American Art Collection (November 8th - February 15th), which features works centered on assessing, examining, celebrating and critiquing the United States’ history, leading up to the county’s 250th birthday. This collection is on view at The Phillips Collection (1600 21st St NW).
We’ll Leave You With This:
“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”
(attributed to Aristotle)
Explore the significance of the world, the people, the objects around you. Create!

The Torch (Ben Chilli’s Bowl Mural), alley adjacent to 1313 U St, NW.
Artist: Aniekan Udofia with Mia Duval (2017). Featured in our grantee, Partners for Historical Justice public art guide: 'Re-envisioning Blackness: Race and Public Art in the District of Columbia'
Give. Inspire. Repeat.
