Tiffany Carmouché’s Pass It On For Papa Bronze Sculpture Workshop
January 2024
I am a DMV female sculptor. I have lived in the area most of my life. As a Fine Arts Practitioner my work helps keep the traditional figurative sculptural practices alive in our community. At a time where students are plagued with school shootings, violence, bullying and loneliness this is an opportunity to engage youth in the classical process of creating a life-size bronze sculpture that introduces the Pass it On For Papa Movement. This movement encourages people to perform random acts of kindness, and motivates positive action. I’m sculpting a DMV children’s book author, Larry Callen, to inspire creativity, literacy, kindness and wonder. The goal is to fund a campaign to invite youth to engage with the process. I will be reaching out to local schools so children will be able to be part of the campaign. I’ll host a live and virtual gatherings to show the student the process and will allow students to ask questions. I want to empower the students to help make some decisions about a sculpture that has the potential to last over 2000 years. The maquette is complete. They will get a behind the scenes look at the next steps in the exciting process. They will feel empowered and realize the power of art. The goal is to outreach to schools and libraries in the area. And invite them to join the process, live and/or virtually. The sessions will begin in February during Random Acts of Kindness Week and end by June.
