What the Grant Made Possible
TDF’s April 2026 grant supported CRUX, a student-led group exhibition in Anacostia presented through Mark Garrett and Capitol Hill Boys Club. Funding supported practical exhibition costs including installation, documentation and live programming, helping move the students’ work into a public-facing exhibition. CRUX created space for young artists and participating gallery artists to respond to social and civic questions through visual art, placing student voices within a wider public conversation in Washington, DC.

Mark Garrett and Capitol Hill Boys Club use exhibitions and programming to bring artists and communities into conversation. CRUX extended that work through a student-led group exhibition in Anacostia, giving young artists a public setting in which to respond through art to the city and the issues around them.
